Where is my data?
StudyTime stores your study information locally in its macOS app container. It does not create an online account.
How do I back up?
Open Settings in StudyTime and choose Export JSON Backup. Keep that file somewhere safe.
How do I restore?
In Settings, choose Restore JSON Backup. StudyTime validates the file and automatically creates a pre-restore backup first.
Why did my timer pause?
StudyTime pauses when your Mac sleeps or your user session becomes inactive. After wake or unlock, resume from the notification or menu bar.
How do I change Launch at Login?
Open StudyTime Settings and use the Launch at Login switch. macOS may also show the item in System Settings.
How do I enable website blocking?
Open StudyTime Settings, turn on distraction blocking, and choose Enable or Retry Setup. macOS asks for one-time approval of StudyTime’s local Network Extension. If approval is pending, use the button to open System Settings.
Which browsers are supported?
StudyTime 1.2 filters Safari, Chrome, Arc, Opera, Microsoft Edge, and Brave. Other browsers and applications are allowed.
When is blocking active?
Blocking happens only while your study timer is actively running. The network filter turns off when you pause, sleep, lock your Mac, or finish, and it fails open if the app stops communicating.
Does StudyTime save my browsing history?
No. Website checks happen locally. Hostnames for open connections are held only in the filter extension’s memory; StudyTime does not retain visited URLs, page content, browsing history, or blocking analytics.
